About Me

Grounded support. Lived experience. A steady presence when it matters most.

I’m Michael Riley — founder of Sage & Still: Coaching and Consulting. I bring over two decades of leadership across government, global brands, and the non-profit sector, where I’ve guided complex systems in transportation, safety, security, and logistics. I am also a veteran, a husband and father, and a pastoral presence to leaders navigating pressure, relationships, and the unseen weight of responsibility.

Strategic Advisory

As an agency leader for District government and a senior executive for national and global organizations, I have overseen more than $200 million in capital projects, driven $100 million+ in new business development, and managed an annual $135 million budget with over 1,200 employees and a 600-vehicle fleet.

I advise executives and boards on how to scale operations sustainably, enter new markets confidently, and navigate compliance and risk with foresight. My role is to help leaders move beyond short-term fixes to design long-term strategies that integrate financial growth, operational readiness, and workforce stability.

Consulting

Advisory provides the vision — consulting makes it real. I work alongside leaders to close operational gaps and deliver measurable results. My consulting work includes:

  • Vendor & Contract Optimization – Driving accountability and efficiency in multimillion-dollar agreements

  • Fleet & Facility Management – Electrification transitions, modular expansions, and infrastructure alignment

  • Routing & Logistics Efficiency – Improving on-time performance, safety, and service reliability

  • Workforce Transitions – Managing large-scale staffing shifts, union negotiations, and organizational redesign

  • Regulatory & Safety Compliance – Meeting state, federal, and contractual obligations while protecting reputation and resources

  • Interim Director, Executive - Filling interim roles or supporting the interim while the organization transitions to new leadership.

This is technical problem-solving with practical precision — equipping organizations to execute today while preparing for tomorrow.

Coaching

Numbers tell one part of the story — but leadership also requires presence. After years of carrying responsibility at scale, I know the toll of leading in silence, navigating burnout, and serving others while neglecting yourself.

That’s where my coaching begins. I provide confidential executive coaching for leaders and emerging leaders to sharpen executive presence, improve delegation, and maintain emotional resilience under pressure. For individuals outside the executive sphere — pastors, caregivers, and those carrying heavy loads — I also offer accessible emotional support coaching, designed with discretion in mind.

You can begin with a Discovery Session, or step into:

  • Individual Coaching (1, 4, 6, or 10 sessions) – Client-led support for personal and leadership challenges

  • Guided Track Series (4 sessions) – Structured coaching focused on Life Mapping, Pre-Burnout Strategy, Spiritual & Vocational Survey, or Manhood Reset

Invitation

If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’re carrying something important — whether it’s an organization preparing for its next chapter, a team facing operational pressure, or a personal longing to realign with who you are and where you’re going.

This is your space to recalibrate and move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and confidence.
